Day 115: Walls Textured

Yesterday we arrived and saw that the walls had all been textured. This phase is so neat because we're so close to the finish line. We love coming by every day, seeing what's been done, what's been dropped off or what's new. The kids almost always dash off to the back porch first before going upstairs to explore their territory. 

 

They're so proud of their home already. I know this will be something they remember and tell their own kids about one day. Yes, it takes time and patience and strength to handle all of the little details, but building is so worth it!

Day 112: Valentine's Day

Today, after having a yummy French lunch, I took Mom and Bob by the house. It was nice to hear the things they noticed and liked about the house. 

Our driveway and patio steps are now complete. 

I also saw Raymond briefly who mentioned and he thought texturing would begin on Monday. I suppose the cabinets go in after that. 

Day 110: Tape and Floated

Day 107: Planted an Orange Seed

Today Macy found a seed in her Cutie orange and decided to plant it in our new "backyard". We took it over there, she picked out a spot and planted the seed. Tomorrow and Tuesday we're supposed to have rain. Maybe it will grow! Time will tell.

Day 106: Walls!

Today is the start of Week 16. We have walls! The downstairs is mostly complete and the workmen are now working upstairs. It's really dusty in here now.

 

We also have the form for the stairs leading down from the back porch to the backyard. We'll have five!

 

I thought we'd get the driveway poured today as we saw the cement trucks and the boom, but they only ended up pouring a slab for the third house on Grand Junction.
