Day 105: Beginning of the Drywall

Raymond called this morning and invited me out to the house to determine placement of the back porch stairs. After showing him where I want them, he showed me where the broken truss was repaired.

Yesterday was the house's exterior wall insulation inspection along with the Greenzone inspection. Both passed. Yay!

While we were there, workmen were there installing drywall on the ceiling in the kitchen. It was pretty cool to watch. One guy was on stilts! He needed to be tall to reach the ceiling so he could screw the nails in.

He had a neat drill, too, that only turned the screw after he applied pressure to it on the drywall. Then it only screwed a set amount of distance so that the screws never over-screwed. This keeps all of the surface flat, no dimpling.

After he screwed the drywall up, he had another tool that he used. It was some sort of saw that he could poke into the space where the light casing was preinstalled. The metal edge of the casing guided the saw and it cut a perfect circle in nothing flat. It was very cool to watch.
